ACCACIA First Field Campaign Begins

The first ACCACIA field campaign is almost underway. The surface aerosol and chemistry teams are on the Norwegian icebreaker, the RV Lance (operated by the Norwegian Polar Institute), and nearly ready to sail from Tromso. Their intended cruise plan is shown below. The MASIN aircraft team from BAS, along with Barbara Brooks from Leeds, are on their way to Longyearbyen. The rest of us will be on our way to Kiruna in northern Sweden with the FAAM research aircraft on Monday for 3 weeks of exciting science.
